H A Y L E Y N E B A U E RC O S T U M E D E S I G N E R |
With experience in accurate period costume and contemporary
(see below), I specialize in fusing costume genres, historical and contemporary,
to create hybrid aesthetics. Often I create unusual fantasy and science fiction
concepts with their roots drawing from both historical works and contemporary
design.
I am highly pragmatic and work in an unusual way for a
Costume Designer, involving myself closely with my costume production team to
see all designs from the concept stages right through to the finished article. I
have a highly skilled team and manage the workshop without drama or fuss,
solving problems as they arise. I see problems as challenges to design that much
be solved calmly, thus improving the end result of a design and making it more
fit for purpose.
I work extremely well under pressure and in budget, to
produce memorable and appropriates image for the production in focus. Size of
teams managed: 4 – 20 members (including full workrooms) Size of Productions
costumed: up to a film budget of £10 million/ up to 1600 period
costumes.
Through comprehensive research, script analysis, design development, excellent communication with others in the production, creative problem solving and strong knowledge of historical costume, I can work in many genres and aesthetics. I have a very strong understanding of costume construction and excellent cutting and drafting skills, saving time and finding the end result in the best way available.
